First Dragon Puppet

Here is the first dragon puppet that I made, Cant deside on a name for him so surgestions are wecome!
The woodturing club that i belong to have a christmas compertion each year and last year it was a childs toy...and well ive been looking for a good excuse for years to make a dragon puppet.
He is actuly the remains or three attempts to make a puppet i ran out of time so fitted together the remaing working parts!!! (and skiped the joint for the feet)
hes all turned on my lathe and the joints cut by bandsaw(scary) hand and dremeled to fit. you can still see some of the screws and such but i like that sort of look and for the compertition we didnt have to comply with safty standards as you hit a wall with finishes and wood and paints just a bit of fun realy.
the wings are a chestnut burr verneer witch i lamennated to thin red leather with gold painted details very cool but very fragile (and hard to see in this photo) hardest part i think was working out the stringing
Hes made out of yew wood and as a first (well kinda) im very pleased and he did win the compertion!!
just beating a truly wonderful toy train.

Ive now made seven since each one changing a bit oh and a cat I will upload them all soon.
The others are all for sale (moslty sold ive only two left at this time ) but think I will be keeping him as he was the first.
